Welcome to the 2018-2019 edition of the Clear Creek High School Wildcat Band!

The staff of the Wildcat Band is excited to welcome all of you to the next year of musical and performance excellence! It's hard to believe we are already getting started...but it is time to dive in!


Please read all the information below carefully so you have all the information you need for a successful start. It's a lot of information...but it should get you started.


After you have read all the info, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at the e-mails at the bottom of this newsletter.

General Guidelines and Information

Attendance
  • Attendance at all rehearsals and performances is required for all members.
  • Excused absences are rare and only permitted in the case of documented illness, excused school event, or legitimate family emergency.
  • For an absence to be excused, the student/parent must communicate in advance via e-mail (preferred) or phone call. Absences cannot and will not be excused if the communication occurs after the absence.
  • Students are expected to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start time for any rehearsal. We start rehearsal at the start time...


Attendance and reliability are the primary factors used in determining marching spot assignments, band placements, leadership positions, etc. The Wildcat Band cannot be successful without the consistent and reliable attendance of all members.


Schedules


Communication

  • Regular communication will be sent via e-mail newsletters, text blasts, and Twitter.
  • Students/parents are responsible for making sure they are receiving e-mails and text blasts. If they are not being received, contact a band director immediately.
  • E-mail is always the preferred method of communication with the Band Staff. All staff emails are at the bottom of this newsletter.
  • Text communication and contacting directors on their personal cell phones is only appropriate in the case of emergency or unless the director specifically requests such communication.


Materials & Preparation

  • Students are expected and required to have all materials needed at each rehearsal and performance.
  • Students are expected to have a pencil at all musical rehearsals.
  • Appropriate attire is required at all times for uniformity and for student health/safety. Appropriate attire for Summer Band is: plain white t-shirts for all outside rehearsals starting August 1st, shorts, athletic shoes, hat, and sunglasses.
  • Students should take the necessary steps to stay healthy during summer rehearsals and beyond, including: bring your own water jug to rehearsals, wear sunscreen, eat a healthy breakfast and lunch, get plenty of rest.

Summer Band Rehearsals - Required of All Wildcat Band Members

July 30th through August 3rd

  • 7:00am to 11:00am - Outside Rehearsals
  • 11:00am to 12:00pm - Lunch (Students are responsible for bringing their lunch or may travel off campus.)
  • 12:00pm to 4:00pm - Inside Rehearsals


August 6th through August 10th

  • 12:00pm to 4:00pm - Inside Rehearsals
  • 4:00pm to 5:00pm - Dinner (Students are responsible for brining their lunch or may travel off campus.)
  • 5:00pm to 9:00pm - Outside Rehearsals


August 13th through August 17th (No rehearsal on Wednesday.)

Bring snacks, chairs, blankets...anything to be comfortable and watch some great performances!

Wildcat Band Fundraiser and Director Meet & Greet

Tuesday, July 24th, 6-8pm

Come have some great food and support your band program!


You can eat anytime during the day and earn money for the band program by presenting this flyer.


Come between 6pm and 8pm and meet the Wildcat Band's new Director of Bands, Mr. Tate Fincher.
