Mission and Vision Statements
Mission:
St. Joseph Catholic School provides students with a safe and prayerful learning environment, enveloped by an intimate community of active and faithful families.
Vision:
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fort Worth are committed to opening the doors so that our students can reach further than the walls that would otherwise enclose them and therefore are able to recognize and cherish the eternal and transcendental goods of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.
From the Principal
Happy September! Welcome back from a long weekend.
I can honestly say that August flew by. It won't be long before we are feeling fall in the air. I am looking forward to a little less humidity and heat. Thank you for navigating our indoor dismissal today with smiles. It's never easy to make a prediction on Texas weather. If you did not receive a text message regarding the indoor dismissal, please stop by the office and we can show you how to sign up.
Thankfully, we were able to fix the marquee this week! Now, if we could just get the awning installed on the Pre-K playground. I am learning that a permit approval can take a very long time. Thank you for your patience.
As I dismiss students from the cafeteria to their classrooms each morning, I often ask the group what they can do that day to serve someone as a missionary disciple. I normally get a lot of sweet answers about helping their classmates. This morning, when I asked the students what they planned to do to help others today, I heard one child say, "I'm going to listen to my teacher." I looked at the young student and told him how I thought that plan was smart. It brings to mind my own plan for the day. I have a teacher that I need to be listening to. We all have that same teacher, Jesus Christ.
Following the teachings of Jesus found in the Gospels, is following the Word of God. This word is truth. We need to listen to what The Teacher tells us. If we listen, love, and live as we have been taught, we will be living the truth we were intended to live.
Go, Knights! Live in the Truth.
In Christ's service,
Diane Price, M.Ed.L.
"Truth" Bible Quote for September
New "Truth" Quotes to ponder
Do not accept anything as truth if it lacks love. And do not accept anything as love if it lacks truth.
- St. Edith Stein
The truth is like a lion. You don't have to defend it. Let is loose. It will defend itself.
-St. Augustine
How Truth applies to us: At St. Joseph Catholic School, we are striving to become missionary disciples by revealing the truth of Christ to others through our actions.

car line observations
- Please do not move or disregard the cones that are placed around the parking lots. These are provided to help keep our students safe.
- Do not make a left turn at the long line of cones upon entering the parking lot (the TCP area on the map). Please move up the drive, go around the small island, and come back down to the front of the school building. This keeps traffic off of Green Oaks.
- It is very important that cars are not left unattended in the car line. Please park your car in the large lot beside the field if you need to leave your vehicle.
- Please remember that if you are walking your child into the school building, you are to park in the large lot in front of the field. Foot traffic should not be occurring in the parking lots to the left, unless you have a physical need for a shorter walk. It is dangerous to be walking between the car line.
- For the safety of all, please be aware of your speed as you move through the parking lots, and be watchful and courteous.
- Please be patient with friends and extended family members who drop off and pick up students. Many times they have not been informed of the proper way to navigate the car line. We do reach out to families after arrival and dismissal who seem to not understand the car line pattern.
- If you have a friend or extended family member picking up your child, please take a minute to explain the procedures to them. Please reference the diagram. Thank you!
- We would ask that a cell phone not be in your hand while driving in the car line. We all know it only takes one sudden distraction to alter lives forever.

Stream excitement!
Students were able to put their bubble wand designs to work today. Many groups had successful plans! Be sure to ask your child what the "special ingredient" was to help improve the elasticity of the bubbles, and the reason why their group design functioned, or why it did not.
