The Lion Lowdown

October 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are off to a great start of a new school year. I hope all of the students are as excited about this school year as I am. Working with your children is a wonderful experience. The children are working hard and I am very proud of them. I want to say a big “Thank You” for helping your student with their homework and all the support you give to them and the school.

This is a very exciting time of the year for the children. With Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas coming up, there will be many activities that your children will be involved in.

Have a Safe and Happy Halloween!

Thank you,

David Bradshaw

"Paws"itive Office Referrals

Last month, Mr. Bradshaw launched his Pawsitive Office Referral program. When teachers catch kids doing something above and beyond they can fill out the office referral and turn it in to Mr. Bradshaw. Mr. Bradshaw will call the student to his office where they are bragged on and receive a prize. The student is allowed to pick someone and Mr. Bradshaw will call them and brag on the student. Students love talking to their loved ones on the speakerphone! Watch the video below to see our September Pawsitive Office Referral Students.

September Star Citizens

Congratulations to the September Star Citizens. The Star Citizen program is a positive behavior program developed by SHES faculty and staff. Approximately 150 students a year are recognized for exemplary behavior that goes above and beyond the high expectations we set for all students. This program is credited with maintaining a safe, respectful, orderly school environment and minimizing the number of incidents requiring disciplinary action. The students are called out over the intercom and given an award certificate, pencil, and certificate for a free meal at subway. This year, Senath Subway, has partnered with SHES and is helping to fund 35% of the cost of the program. A huge thanks to Senath Subway for helping to recognize these students!
