Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 - October 15! Follow along on LISD social media as we celebrate Hispanic heritage and culture across our district.
Reminder: Asynchronous Learning Day September 20
Lockhart ISD students will have an asynchronous learning day on Monday, September 20. All students will learn from home on this date without live instruction from their teachers. Those who registered for on-campus asynchronous will participate at their campus.
Recap: Pep Rally on the Square
The Lockhart Lions are fired up for homecoming! The annual homecoming pep rally was held at the Town Square on Wednesday night. The homecoming court nominees were presented, our athletic teams were cheered on, and the Roaring Lion Band, cheer, and dance all performed.
Thank you to the LISD community for coming out to support our student-athletes at the annual Pep Rally on the Square. Let’s go, Lions!
We hope to see you at the homecoming game tonight at 7:00 p.m. at Lions Stadium. #GoLions

LISD Community Education Offers Free Spanish Class for LISD Teachers
LISD Teachers: You asked, and we listened! The district is pleased to share an “UnLocking Potential” opportunity for teachers to participate in a FREE Blended Spanish Class through the Community Education department. You would participate in online Spanish classes on your own time during the week and attend an in-person class once a week to practice your conversational Spanish. Please register by September 17 by clicking here.
If you have questions, please email Deanna.Juarez@lockhart.txed.net.
Submit a Recipe to our Hispanic Heritage Month Community Cookbook!
Calling all cooks! To celebrate #HispanicHeritageMonth, Lockhart ISD is creating a Community Cookbook, full of traditional and modern Hispanic-inspired recipes from our diverse community of parents, students, and staff.
Have a favorite Hispanic recipe you’d like to share? Click here to submit it to the Community Cookbook!
Whether it's a traditional family recipe or a modern twist on a classic Hispanic meal, we want to hear from you! All types of recipes (main dishes, desserts, non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, and more) are accepted.
The Hispanic Heritage Month cookbook will be distributed in digital PDF format through social media. Although this cookbook will highlight Hispanic cuisine, you do not need to be of Hispanic-origin to submit a recipe for inclusion. All community members are welcome and encouraged to participate!
National Arts in Education Week
It's National Arts in Education Week! The arts are a critical part of Lockhart ISD's whole-child education goal. To the incredible arts teachers across LISD: thank you for nurturing the artistic talents and opening the minds of our lions.
