The Olive Branch 5.24.19

What a difference a year or three or seven makes! This week we enjoyed hearing how far our 5th grade band students have come since they started back in the fall. We also were wowed by the Thomas Middle School Jazz Ensemble which included quite a few Olive Owls. On Thursday, we invited former Olive Owls now graduating back to the nest for our 2nd annual Senior Walk. The seniors walked the halls in their caps and gowns while cheered on by current owls and teachers. Many of their parents also came to enjoy a reception after school where the seniors were able to reconnect with many of their Olive teachers. So proud of this OMS class of 2012. They are off to do great things!

The Top Typer in each school will be invited to a Board Meeting, recognized and given a certificate. This student will also receive a Tech Lunch with the Tech Facilitator. This summer, students may log onto your typingtraining.com account and practice their keyboarding skills. Every minute of practice they enter will be added to Olive's grand total (and then averaged by the number of students participating). Each week you can check the leaderboard to see which school has logged the most minutes. Click HERE for more information.
