Years at Central - 6 years
Family - I have a wonderful husband named Craig and we have a son in kindergarten named Garon. He attends Brougham Elementary and we have 2 year old twins a boy named Cavet and a girl named Caris.
What do you like most about working at Central? What I like most about Central is getting to have real, authentic relationships with students and staff. We are the BEST school in Olathe and I am so lucky to be part of the fun and hard work here.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work? My favorite thing to do outside of work is spend time at home with my whole family. I love being in our house watching our children play and laugh.
Something interesting about you - Humor and laughter are my favorite tools for life's awkward moments.
Bonus Info - I hope someday to have a doctorate in education and possibly work at the district level.
March Character Trait: Readiness.
or March, we are focusing on school readiness with students. We will be focusing on the following:
- Gather what you need before beginning a task: pencil, paper, books, journals...
- When facing a large task consider how you might break it down into smaller pieces
- Use all work time available to you
- Prioritize tasks ahead
- Begin each day and each task with a growth mindset that believes you can always become better
- View mistakes as opportunities for growth
When taking tests or assessments:
- Use all tools available to you (scrap paper, manipulatives, computer tools, breaks)
- Get enough sleep at night (go to bed before or around 8:30)
- Shower and wash your body so you feel refreshed and renewed
- Take your time and do not rush
- Use strategies (reread questions, look back in passages, use common sense)
Task Initiation by Kristina Scully
Make a contract with yourself that says
I will start my work by:
- Listening and following directions so I know what to do!
- Making it a habit to just start my work right away!
- Giving myself reminders about what to do!
- Reminding myself about my goals and what I want to do!
- Making a plan before I start!
- Using Strategies to just get up and start!

Census 2020 Begins April 1
As required by the U.S. Constitution, every 10 years the U.S. Census Bureau counts each resident in the United States, regardless of citizenship or immigration status. The census is strictly confidential and it is illegal for information collected to be shared with any other agency or government employee.
Approximately $800 billion in federal funding is distributed to communities across the nation each year based on the population totals collected by the census. The Olathe School District benefits from numerous funds that are dependent upon census data.
The next U.S. Census launches April 1, 2020, and for the first time, the census will be available to take completely online in addition to the traditional methods of phone, mail and home visits. Respond to the 2020 Census to shape the future. Responding to the census helps communities get the funding they need and helps businesses make data-driven decisions that grow the economy.
Individual information collected from the census, by law, cannot be released for 72 years. The Census Bureau will not share a respondent’s personal information with immigration or law enforcement agencies, or allow it to be used to determine someone’s eligibility for government benefits.
