NMS Summer Newsletter - July 8
Northwestern Middle School News and Notes
Happy Friday Wildcat Country!
I hope everyone had a wonderful July 4th holiday!
Now that we're in July, this is the first of what will now be weekly summer newsletters that will be sent out on Fridays until school starts. After the school year starts, the Weekly Wildcat will resume. Our Assistant Principal's will be back in the office on Monday.
New NMS families, including rising 6th grade families, will not automatically receive communication from our school until the "roll over" which should happen soon now that summer school is over. Until then, anyone can sign up for our communication using this link - Sign Up - Blackboard (parentlink.net). Please feel free to share this with anyone you know. https://fulton.parentlink.net/main/login/new-account-sign-up

There is also a Facebook group that is a great resource: Parenting in a Tech World
Here's What You Need to Know About Instagram Supervision
In an effort to help keep young people safer on the platform, Instagram has launched a new feature called supervision. It's similar to TikTok's family pairing features, in that it allows parents to link their Instagram accounts to their children's to provide a little oversight.
Payments Apps: How Families Can Send & Receive Money
Much like rewinding video tapes and pressing *69, gone are the days of piggy banks and cash allowances. For modern families, many kids receive their hard-earned allowances digitally. But there are a ton of different payment apps out there, so figuring out the best, safest, and least stressful way for your family to do it can be a challenge.
