New Literacy Curriculum Proposal
The MPSD is excited to provide the public an opportunity to review Into Reading, the proposed Gr. K-5 English Language Arts curriculum resource, and Into Literature, the proposed Gr. 6-8 English Language Arts curriculum resource.
There are two options available for digital review. One is the Into Reading and Into Literature Digital Classrooms. These are clickable virtual classrooms to learn about all the components of the program.

There is also the option of going to the HMH site and clicking on the “Get A Sample” button. Then the person requesting the sample would get an email giving access to a digital preview of the program.

For those who would like to review hard copies of the materials, sample resources from each grade level are available for review in the reception area of the MPSD Administration Building. The MPSD Receptionist will assist with this process.

Drop-Off/Pick-Up Reminder
- Manila Street -- NO PARKING on the south side or middle of the street!
- the east side of 14th Street--Please cross at the crosswalks!
- the north side of Division Street--Please cross at the crosswalks!
Parents should not pull in the parking lot for drop-off or pick-up. This space is for staff and school buses only.
Please watch all three of these short videos that share IMPORTANT information on where at Jefferson you can drop-off and pick-up. If we all work together, drop-off and pick-up can go quite smoothly.
Before School
We also ask that students not cut through the parking lot in the front of the building, but instead cross at the crosswalks. Students cannot be seen cutting through the cars and we don't want a child to get hit.

The 2022-2023 school year is upon us and it is time to sign your student(s) up for the school dental program provided by Lakeshore Community Health Care! We provide dental services such as exams, x-rays, cleanings, fluoride, sealants, and fillings right at your child's school. Please follow this link to fill out the sign up form for school dental services https://www.pdffiller.com/en/link_to_fill/535490245.htm

Reporting Your Child's Absence
State law requires the Manitowoc Public School District to enforce the regular attendance of students. Wisconsin Act 285 defines a “habitual truant” as “a pupil who is absent from school without an acceptable excuse for part or all of five school days during a semester.” Per the state law, students are not allowed more than 10 absences in a school year. Families whose student exceeds the designated number of allowed absences will receive attendance letters in the mail and we will request that you participate in an attendance problem-solving meeting where we will work through each family situation.
