TPS District Newsletter
Tewksbury Public Schools
May 2023
Hello TPS Parents, Guardians, Staff and Community,
May is a month to show appreciation and honor to the many that support, educate, feed, nurture and sacrifice for us throughout the school year and beyond.
I'd like to begin this newsletter by THANKING and sending my APPRECIATION to all of you as members of the Town of Tewksbury, for your support at the Monday, May 1st Town Meeting through supporting and approving the 2023-2024 school budget. I am so grateful that our community continuously shows their appreciation and support towards our schools and educators by making sure TPS has the resources needed to educate and care for the children of Tewksbury.
On that note, this week, May 8-12 celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week. Teachers and the entire school staff make sure our students are educated and cared for daily at TPS. Our students, families and our PAC's have come out in full force to reciprocate that care and show their love and appreciation for their teachers and entire support staff this week. The food and kind gestures shared have been truly meaningful in the teachers’ day...and for everyone that works with children. No one does this job for the Thank You...but when one is given, it does mean so much.
May 5th was School Lunch Hero Day, held annually in honor of each person responsible for providing lunches (and food) to millions of children across America. But one day is simply not enough to say THANK YOU to our food and nutrition staff who are all truly AMAZING in the care they show in keeping our bodies healthy and fed, so we can teach and learn in the classroom.
Memorial Day is recognized this year on Monday, May 29, 2023. It is a solemn day that honors those who lost their lives while defending their country. My greatest appreciation and recognition goes out to those suffering from that loss, while protecting the freedoms we all so deeply appreciate.
As the end of the school year starts to come into plain sight, please know how much we appreciate all you do to support our work, so we can support your children. To all the mothers and those serving as mother figures to our students, here’s wishing you a lovely, peaceful, and happy Mother’s Day filled with all the appreciation you deserve.
Sincerely,
Brenda Regan

WYNN MS THEATER WINS 5 All-Star Company Awards
This past weekend, the Wynn Middle School participated in the 2023 Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild's 2023 Middle School Drama Festival, representing our district in this statewide event.
Five of our Wynn students took home All-Star Company Awards: Blake Adams, Grace Kennedy, Kevin Daigle, Cordelia Zwirek, and Jake Gigante.
We also brought home Tewksbury's 3rd Gold Medal in Theatre!
We are all so proud of the work these 7th and 8th graders did to achieve this award. They also deserve another gold medal for how they represented Tewksbury Public Schools in both their performance and the respect they demonstrated for the other participating schools, as they hosted this drama festival themselves here in Tewksbury. Current and former students and their families also volunteered their time to make a memorable experience for all the students involved. It was a really great day!
Bravo Students!!!
...and Thank you to Mr. DiPrima for his continued commitment to our performing students.

The Tewksbury Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Advisory Committee (TDEIAC)
On Friday, June 2, 2023, the Town of Tewksbury Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Advisory Committee (TDEIAC) will host a new event on our town Common. It will be called Pride Lights – an inclusive, welcoming celebration featuring speakers, music, and more...eventually culminating in the lighting of our gazebo in LED rainbow lights (made possible through grant funding).
The event will start at 6:30 pm, and the lights will remain on the gazebo during the month of June to show that Tewksbury is a welcoming town, enjoying many kinds of diversity, and demonstrating unity within our community.
