May Update--Finish Strong!!!
Greetings TLC family. We have less than twenty days left in this semester. This end of the semester push will be rewarding, but will require an intense effort and dedication by all of our stakeholders. We are proud of what we have accomplished together so far, but we need all of our students to finish strong.
Please note that the rest of the year will be extremely busy with, Kentucky Summative Exams, Final Exams, one more Working Wednesday, and the 1st Annual TLC Showcase. For specific dates, please reference the Important Dates section below.
We have supports in place to help your students finish this year successfully including: credit recovery courses, core content intervention (A4), Advisory, and ESS. Please help us by checking your student's progress on Infinite Campus, EOS, and Canvas. Reach out to your student's teacher if you need assistance.
Finally, please take the time to nominate a staff member that made a difference for your student(s): TLC May Staff Member of the Month
Please email me if you need anything: bryan.kennedy@fayette.kyschools.us

Class of 2023
Class of 2023 Graduation Info:
The TLC Class of 2023 Graduation Ceremony has been set for Thursday, May 25 at 6:00pm held at Southland Christian Church's Recreation Room on Richmond Rd. Due to limited seating, each graduate has been given 5 tickets. Students are encouraged to let their classmates know if they have extra tickets, they are welcome to give extras away.
If a graduate has not yet ordered a cap and gown, please let Ms. Salloum know as soon as possible.
FCPS has set graduation dates at Rupp Arena for the 6 High Schools. Our TLC graduates are welcome to walk with their home high schools. Graduates must participate in the graduation practice to walk. Click on this link to see the FCPS Graduation Information for all high schools:
Graduates at TLC will be given a certificate of completion at the TLC Graduation. This is NOT an official diploma. Official diplomas can be picked up at the graduates home high schools after May 29th between 8:00-3:00pm. High schools are open during the summer.
Attire for graduation: Graduation is a formal occasion and students are encouraged to dress nicely. Caps and gowns can be any color for the TLC graduation. Hang up your gowns NOW so the wrinkles will come out. The best way to remove the wrinkles is to hang in the bathroom – steam from a hot shower helps smooth the wrinkles naturally. DO NOT iron the gown, it will melt and there is not enough time to get a new one. There will be a room for graduates to gather and get ready for the ceremony. Graduates can keep bags/purses in the room but it will not be supervised during the ceremony. Caps can be decorated but must be “school appropriate”.
All Chromebooks and chargers, library books, and fines must be turned in and taken care of by Monday, May 22, 2023. Please reach out to Ms. Tongate and Mr. B Wilson with questions.
Graduates going to college: FINAL TRANSCRIPTS (AFTER GRADUATION) will be sent through Parchment.com. Seniors have been given this link to set up their Parchment account. Please make sure graduates use a personal email account, not FCPS!
Seniors who completed Dual Credit English with Ms. Schwarz should request a transcript from BCTC:
Parents:
Please work with your senior on next steps. Students planning on going to Tech School or College should complete the Fafsa as soon as possible.
KEES money can be checked at KHEAA website: KEES Money Login
Scholarships and Grants can also be found on the college/university's websites.
