My Life as a Reader
Laura Mills
Favorite Author and Book
My favorite childhood author is Beverly Cleary and I loved her Ramona Quimby series as a child. I remember her being so funny and playful and she was always up to some kind of mischief!
Great books to use in the classroom
The Book Thief is my favorite book to use in the classroom. This book teaches about Hitler's Germany and how brave young people stood up for what was right and showed human compassion to people in need.
First book chapter book I read on my own
The first chapter book I read, or one of the first chapter books, was probably Frog and Toad are Friends.
Social Media related to books
For social media relating to books, I typically use GoodReads and Amazon for kindles.
A little known library
While I worked for the Teaching American History grant, which was housed at Massie Heritage Center in downtown Savannah, I often visited their library while at work. The Massie library housed many wonderful, older bindings of classic novels.
