Walk to School Day

International Walk to School Day is Wednesday, October 6, 2021. I have attached the district flyer for information related to the event. Please keep in mind that the doors to Barclay School will open at their regular time of 9:00 am. If you do arrive on campus early, you may certainly enjoy our playground rather then waiting on the sidewalk. I also wanted to inform you that the selfie stations and water station at the end of the route will not be operational this year. I recommend students bring water bottles if they are walking to campus.

Health Information

Dear Parents,

As Monroe County is seeing COVID cases rise amongst children, we are asking that before sending your student to school in the morning you ask yourself if your child currently has one or more of these new or worsening symptoms:

  • A temperature greater than 100.0 F
  • Feels feverish or have chills
  • Cough
  • Loss of taste or smell
  • Fatigue
  • Sore throat
  • Shortness of breath or trouble breathing
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • Muscle pain or body aches
  • Headaches
  • Nasal Congestion

We recognize in many cases that these symptoms may be allergies or a cold, however we are required to follow Monroe County Department of Public Health protocol which states that a student needs either an alternate diagnosis, a negative PCR test, or to complete a quarantine and be symptom free prior to return to school. Please know that our number one priority is keeping our students and staff safe , and our schools open. Thank you for your support in this matter. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
