Dear Parents and Guardians,
We had a great week of learning our Raider Way expectations, finding our classes, and making new friends. Lessons from Raider Time included learning what PRIDE stands for and what it "looks" like. Ask your child this weekend if they know what Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dependability, and Excellence mean. We also discussed kindness and how one person can make a difference. I shared the below African proverb on Tuesday: "If you think you are too small to make a difference, you haven't spent the night with a mosquito". After reading this over the announcements I reiterated how each one of us can be a voice for truth and make a difference. The faculty t-shirt we wore today goes along with this theme and we will be integrating this throughout the year.
Laptops were distributed to almost all classes this week. We will finish up Monday so Canvas and other online tools can be accessed. Volleyball tryouts concluded and football practice continued.
Lastly, below is a printable from Big Life Journal, which is a curriculum we use in 6th grade. As a parent of two middle school children, these types of suggestions have been helpful.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Lunch and Breakfast are free of charge this year.
Technology Protection Plan fee is $35.00
Athletic fee is $60.00
Pay Fees Online
Notes about eSchool Online Payments:
- There is a $4.00 dollar fee per transaction. This is to pay for the merchant fees that are charged to the district.
- Use this link: https://rockhillsc.csiepay.com/Main.aspx or https://rockhillsc.csiepay.com/
- For parents that have students at multiple schools, go to each school location on the eSchool home page to pay for each student separately. Click on “Payment Home” on the top of the page after each transaction.
The Payment Home button will take you to the page where you can see all the schools at once, and then click on the correct school that the next transaction is for.
- For parents that have multiple students at one school location, they will be able to pay for those students in one transaction. This will save them $4.00 for each transaction.
Put all the kids’ names in the student name box.
Then choose the quantity of that particular item or separate items if needed.
Bike Riders and Walkers
Walkers will report to the cafeteria at dismissal and be escorted across the walkway.

T-dap vaccine requirements
In accordance with South Carolina Code of Laws and State Regulation, a Tdap vaccine is now a requirement to attend 7th -12 grades. The Tdap vaccine is a booster that protects against three serious diseases: tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough). If your child has had this immunization, please disregard. Documentation that your child has received the Tdap vaccine will need to be provided to the school. If your child still needs to get the immunization, you must get an appointment with your pediatrician or seek out a clinic to arrange for the immunization. If your child has not had the vaccine by the start of 2021-2022 school year, he/she will have 30 days to get the vaccine. After the 30th day, if your child still has not had the vaccine your child will not be permitted to attend school until the school receives documentation that the vaccine has be given.
You may make an appointment at the following places to get the required Tdap vaccine.
