Early Student Removal
Please note, the office will not make phone calls to the classroom to get kids early between 3:30 and 3:40 unless there is an emergency. Teachers are getting students prepped to go home at this time and it's very disruptive to pull kids.
Please note that students are learning up to the end of the day and students are missing out on important instruction when they're taken from school early. This holds true for specials as well as our core content.
Thank you for your understanding.
~Mr. Russell

Notes from Nurse Nathan
We have had quite a few ill students lately and we ask you to remind your kids to wash their hands frequently.
Nurse Nathan would also like to remind parents that if your child has vomited or has had a fever within the last 24 hours they should stay home from school and get well before returning. Flu season is upon us.
Cold Weather
Our policy at Shaw Elementary is to encourage independence and responsibility; therefore, we do not lend cold weather gear on a regular basis. We want our students to be safe and have fun outside, so please provide your children with appropriate cold weather clothing, including, hats, mittens, and boots as the temperature gets colder. It is often very windy outside on the playground, especially in the winter. If you are in need of winter clothing, please contact me at 352-0503.

Title I Update
As a requirement of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, states and school districts must issue annual report cards to parents. The purpose of the report card is to provide parents with information about the district and their child's school in terms of teacher qualifications, academic achievement, and school/district accountability. To access the report cards you may click the link below. If you would like a written copy of our school's report card, please contact Lorri Cook.
More information on Shaw Title I can be located on the Shaw Title I webpage.
