As we enter the month of November, I wanted to send a huge THANK YOU to all of our students and families. Thank you for your continued support of virtual education. Thank you for your understanding and patience with technology, program software, and internet struggles. Thank you for taking time off of work to transport your students to Fortress Fridays, school events, parent/teacher conferences, and standardized testing. Do you really know how much your child is learning or progressing? Standardized tests compare your child's performance with other children's or with state standards. However, these tests are given at the end of the year; the teacher who has been working with your child during the year will not be able to use those test results to decide how to help your child learn better.

The Florida Progress Monitoring testing can give you and your child's teacher information that can help us determine what skills your child needs to help them reach their maximum potential. Student progress monitoring is not another way of assigning a number to your child; it is a way of helping the child learn and the teacher teach the skills they need to be successful academically.
