Teachers Proposed Strike 15 August

The New Zealand Education Institute (NZEI) has advised Inglewood Primary School Board of Trustees that teachers at our school will be taking strike action on pay and conditions for the full day of Wednesday 15th August 2018, should current negotiations fail.

The Board has carefully considered all options including the availability of teaching staff but unfortunately, we cannot provide normal teaching services, nor supervision during the strike.

Therefore the Board of Trustees at Inglewood Primary School have voted to close the school Wednesday 15 August, should current negotiations be unsuccessful.

The school will need to close for instruction and it’s important that you make alternative arrangements for the care of your child/children on the day of the strike.

I know that this is inconvenient for parents and pupils alike, but please be assured that student safety is our main concern.

Thank you for your understanding. Please contact the School Office in the first instance if you have any queries relating to this decision.

Grant Kenny

BoT Chairperson

Moni's Marvellous Message - Production

Our planned performance for the end of this term is going to be awesome.

We have held the first round of auditions this week with well over 100 students keen for various roles We have given out scripts to all students who auditioned as we are holding another day for all students Tuesday 7 March. There are 28 speaking parts and we are having two casts, so we will be selecting 56 students for these.

We also have students as other non-speaking parts, musicians, dancers, choir, backstage, sound, lighting and set design. As you can see all of our 325 students will be involved.

Some of our fabulous Parent Team met on Monday 30 July - we went through the script and worked out costumes etc.

If you are keen to assist in some way, please see the staff where your child is placed within the school and offer you assistance....many hands make light work.
