THE 2020-21 KANSAS HONOR SCHOLARS OF FORT SCOTT HIGH SCHOOL!
The Kansas Honor Scholars Program has been a KU tradition since 1971 and has honored more than 140,000 high school seniors—from all 105 Kansas counties and approximately 360 high schools—for ranking academically in the top 10 percent of their class. It is designed to promote academic excellence in secondary education, to reward high school seniors for their hard work and dedication, and to support our Kansas communities. #kansashonorscholar
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Kansas Honor Scholars were recognized virtually this year. Each of the FSHS Kansas Honor Scholars received a letter of recognition, certificate and medallion. Here are the 14 Tiger Scholars from the Class of 2021:

Fort Scott High School Qualifies Students to the National Tournament
FSHS Debate and Forensics team has been competing completely virtually all year. Over the last few weeks students have been working to qualify to Nationals through three district tournaments. The last leg of this tournament was April 16-17. The Talking Tigers have nine students who will be representing Fort Scott at Nationals in June.
Overall, Fort Scott placed 2nd in Congress sweeps and Speech Sweeps and 3rd in debate sweeps. Several students qualified for nationals in multiple events but are only allowed to compete in one.
