About Arches National Park

Arches National Park has the largest concentration of sandstone arches. It has over 2,000 arches here and has more than 76,000 acres. Arches National Park also has a paved scenic drive for visitors and a variety of trails for hikers. It has a campground 18 miles away for visitors to stay at and is located north of Moab, Utah.


Natural arches are natural rock formations that are naturally formed in a curved shape. Arches National Park is a good place for photographers since some of the arches are known world wide and there is always good lighting. Over 1,000,000 people visit each year. Arches National Park was first made available for visitors in 1923.
