2023-2024 Teacher Requests

As we plan for next year, please know that careful consideration will be given to each student’s placement. Your child’s current teachers and the assistant principals will work together using their knowledge of your child’s learning style, personality, and academic strengths or concerns to make the best classroom assignment for next year. If you have information about your child that you feel needs to be strongly considered, please email both assistant principals latonda.mcqueen@cfisd.net AND courtney.nespeca@cfisd.net no later than Friday, April 28. Information that is considered to be helpful includes information about your child’s learning style and/or personality, as well as your concerns with meeting their academic, emotional, or social needs. Please refrain from asking for your child to be assigned to a particular teacher, as teaching assignments have not been finalized for next year. Please trust that we know our staff well, so the information described above is what helps us to match your child with a teacher in the best way possible. If there are specific qualities in a teacher that have proven to be successful for your child, please include that information as well. We take this responsibility very seriously, and we appreciate your trust in our judgment.

School Supplies for 2023-2024

School supply packs are available for purchase now through June 30. If you would like to order and have your child's supplies delivered directly to their classroom, this is very convenient. Please be sure to order for your child's grade level NEXT YEAR. We do not sell the packets at school; they must be ordered by you no later than June 30.

Watch D.O.G.S.

All father figures who want to sign up as Watch D.O.G.S. volunteers may do so by clicking on THIS LINK. Information about the Watch D.O.G.S. program and the link to purchase a shirt is included in the slides below.

Student Lanyards

Each student received two photo ID badges at the beginning of the school year at no cost. The badges and the unique student number are used to account for students utilizing transportation services, checking out library books and textbooks, purchasing food items from the cafeteria, and providing a means for easy identification of students in common areas of the school. One of the badges is attached to the student’s backpack and is required to be utilized when riding the bus, as well as when purchasing breakfast. The second ID remains at the campus. This badge is on a lanyard and is worn during school hours. Students must have the ID badge in their possession each day and follow campus procedures related to wearing the ID badge. If a student loses the ID, a replacement must be promptly purchased.

The replacement cost for the ID is $3.00.

If your child has misplaced or lost their badge, they need to purchase a new one. Students without a badge (the one with the lanyard) who need to buy items in the cafeteria are sent to the end of the line because of the time it takes to process them checking out. Our cafeteria staff has to put in the student's name manually.

If your child needs either ID replaced, please complete the form below. You may send $3.00 cash, along with the form.

In order for our cafeteria to prepare for this, you must give at least one week's notice. You may email michelle.mendiola@cfisd.net if you are interested.

We are unable to allow students to hand out birthday invitations at school, or to hand out birthday treats in the classrooms.
