Meet Mrs. Stewart

Greetings Whiteman Families,

I am thrilled to be the new principal at Whiteman Elementary!

I hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Lincoln University, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Missouri State University, and a Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from WIlliam Woods University. Prior to this year, I served as an Assistant Principal in the Waynesville R-VI School District.

My husband and I are truly excited to be living here and being part of the Whiteman Community! We have two kids that will be joining me at Whiteman! Garrison is going into first grade. He loves to fish and play sports. Hailey is going into third grade. She loves gymnastics and swimming. My husband and I are as well HUGE fans of water and love spending time on the lake!

I am a very passionate educator that truly believes that ALL students can succeed through the development of a safe, engaging learning environment, I look forward to the chance to meet and work with you! Thank you so much for all you do as a partner in your child's education!

Meet Mr. Andrade

My name is David Andrade. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Missouri and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from William Woods University. I have been teaching and coaching for 17 years. I taught at Whiteman Elementary for 12 years and at Knob Noster Elementary for 5 years. I have had a relaxing summer of fishing, boating, and camping with my family. My wife, Julie, is the principal at Knob Noster Middle School. My daughter, Kirah, is 13 years old and is going into 8th grade. She enjoys horseback riding, playing sports and playing music in the band. I am excited to be back out at Whiteman Elementary. I am in the Aspiring Administration program. I will be assisting Mrs. Stewart and our Whiteman Elementary community this year. I am recharged and excited to be working with our awesome staff to help ensure that the students at Whiteman Elementary achieve his or her personal best.

Whiteman Air Force Base, MO

All Knob Noster students and teachers will be issued NASA certified glasses for the total eclipse of the sun event on August 21. This is a rare and exciting occurrence and also an outstanding educational opportunity for our students. Teachers will engage students in effective educational activities that promote learning related to the total eclipse, but as always safety will be our first priority. The opt out letter was sent home via email. Students that have opted out will stay inside during the eclipse and view the eclipse on a TV, Smart Board, and/or projector via NASA live streaming. Teachers will have students practice putting on and taking off their eclipse glasses safely prior to the eclipse. Please feel free to contact us if you have any additional questions.

The approximate time line for the near total eclipse is as follows:

Begins: Mon, Aug 21, 2017 at 11:43 am

Maximum: Mon, Aug 21, 2017 at 1:11 pm

Ends: Mon, Aug 21, 2017 at 2:38 pm
