December 20-January 6: Winter Break- NO SCHOOL
No tutoring the week of January 6-10.
Please review the 10 Teach 10 graphic about the JCMS Guidelines for Classroom Passes. We will implement these guidelines on Tuesday, November 12th. If your student lost his/her planner, he/she can purchase one in the office for $5, or he/she can bring his/her own personal planner to use.
Science with Ms. Hoyle
In science we will be moving on to our physical science unit. Students will be getting a new science book and learning about forces and energy. When we get back from break we will glue in all of the notes from the previous unit, if students have not already done so. Please make sure your students have glue/tape to be able to put everything in their notebooks. Have a great break!
Math with Mrs. Bange
After break, we will begin solving equations using algebra tiles. We will complete 4 days of solving equations, and then students will take a quiz.
Please check with your student and make sure they have a 1" binder specifically for math. Many students' binders broke or were lost the first semester. If they do not have one, please send one for them to use for the 2nd semester.
World Geography with Mr. Akagi
Returning from Winter Break, we’ll take a day to review rules and expectations in World Geography, and to talk about how fun our Winter Breaks were. Then, we’ll begin our new unit of study: the Russian Domain. We’ll take some notes on the topic, and then watch a documentary about Russia.
Language Arts with Ms. Griem
Language Arts classes will be starting a new Unit. Our Unit 3 Essential Question is: How do we make decisions. We will be reading Long Way Down by Jayson Reynolds and selections from The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
