On March 21, 1960, 7,000 people protest against Apartheid (a system of racial segregation). The police killed 69 non-violent black demonstrators and injured 180 people.
In 1966, The United Nations declared March, 21 as the International day for the elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Who was Nelson Mandela?
He was an anti-apartheid president of South Africa. He focused on dismantling apartheid's legacy, poverty and inequality.
What is Xenophobia?
Xenophobia is a dislike of the people, from other countries.
