The Power of Yet and a Growth Mindset are powerful cognitive mindsets to reach success! We are working hard to foster a Growth Mindset in all of our students! Students should have heard a reading of The Magical Yet. This school-wide project will bring all students together in having a growth mindset for the year!

Please take 15 min to show the video below and do our school-wide Growth Mindset project!

One of the strategies of helping a child in an escalated state is a calming break. We have committed to having Calm Corners in each class and common area as a Tier 1 school-wide practice. Calm Corners provide a safe, predictable space to de-escalate, while remaining in the classroom. Please note the pinwheel has been removed due to Covid related safety protocols.

SWIS is our behavior data tracking system that we use to track major and minor behaviors externally exhibited in the classroom. Please see our definitions for major and minor behaviors below as well as a helpful video to get you started. I will be reaching out to teams to make sure everyone is up-to-date on SWIS.

Each staff member nominates at least 4 students each month that have followed the Briarwood Way! Please focus on nominating students with a growth mindset this month!
