Weekly Knight News
Week of 8-21-17
Do you know when you are making an impact?
A few year's back I showed the following video about making lollipop moments. Everyday we have students watching and listening to us and learning how to behave like adults from us. What type of impacts are you having on students, hopefully positive ones?
Never underestimate the small moments that take place that could have a huge impact on your students.
Collaboration
We will be meeting as a group in the library tomorrow morning. Our focus will be on our 17-18 Instructional Framework and setting individual goals.
Solar Eclipse
Just a reminder that tomorrow the solar eclipse event will be taking place. I will give you more details in the morning regarding the eclipse glasses and what will be taking place.
Fundraiser Kickoff
Our fundraiser kickoff will be taking place tomorrow morning. 8th grade will go during 1st period and 7th grade will be during 2nd period.
NWEA Testing
A reminder that we will be doing NWEA testing this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Students will report directly to their No Excuses classroom for testing on those days. We will be running a 2 hour delay schedule.
First athletic event
The season's first athletic event is tomorrow with our middle school football game at home. Our kids do notice when you come to their events and enjoy you talking to them about it the next day.
Goal Setting
I know NE can be crazy at the start of the year but be sure to carve out time to meet with each student individually and set goal's for this 9 week grading period.
It is important to sit and talk one on one with your students and form those relationships.
