Spring Break is around the corner, and we know that everyone will be grateful for the rest that it will provide so that it can carry us into the final stretch of the year.


I can’t brag enough of the wonderful things we have going on at Sartartia! It was an honor to be part of my first Heritage Day here at SMS! What an amazing day celebrating our student's cultures. A BIG BIG shout out to Mrs. McCune and the No Place For Hate team for putting on a fabulous day!

FORT BEND ISD TO HOST ANNUAL“ALL STAR TALENT DRAFT” JOB FAIR, COMMUNITY INVITED

Fort Bend ISD is seeking qualified and experienced individuals to join its winning team, and currently has openings for teachers, campus administrators, paraprofessionals, central and support office staff.


Individuals interested in applying for any of these positions are invited to attend FBISD’s 2020 “All Star Talent Draft” Job Fair on Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m. -1 p.m., at Constellation Field (1 Stadium Drive, Sugar Land 77479).


FBISD school and department administrators will be on site to interview applicants and make offers of employment. Applicants are asked to bring multiple copies of their resumes and dress in business casual attire for the event. Please keep in mind that this is an “adults-only” event. Please register here.

No Place for Hate

Mrs. McCune is looking for students/parents to serve on this years No Place for Hate committee. The committee will meet once a month to help plan 3 school wide activities to support acceptance by combating bias, bullying and hatred, and creating and maintaining a positive climate here at SMS. PAWS FOR CAUSE - JAG CASH DRIVE

Support the PTO by donating to our Annual Cash Drive. Our Goal this year is $25,000. This is the only cash drive for the entire year. With the funds raised, we have plans to build a shade for the bleachers, bring in new technology for our students, fulfill our Teacher Wish Lists, support the fine Arts department and many more. If every Household donates just $10 we will exceed our goal. BOX TOPS GRADE LEVEL CHALLENGE


Our next Box Top fundraiser is underway! The top winner of Box Tops for Spring will receive a pizza party in the courtyard with 3 friends. Turn in your Box Tops to the front office labeled with your name and grade level or scan your receipts. The winner will be announced when classes resume after the winter break.

Also every Friday in February and March, bring in at least 5 box tops to the front office and receive a Tootsie Pop.

Student Spotlight

Wajahat Khan is an 8th grade student that has a creative personality and a desire to create! He is passionate about Computer Science and has designed and published apps with various partners, lending his expertise in animations to help bring their ideas to life. His apps have focused on helping others in an engaging manner, developing his skills along the way. Wajahat uses his critical thinking skills to solve problems and improve the world around him with computers and creativity.

Staff Spotlight

Erin Simons is an amazing first year teacher and serves as the Assistant Orchestra Director at Sartartia Middle School. She has loved music since she was very young and is thrilled to have the opportunity to share that with so many students in class. Ms. Simons loves to spend time with her boyfriend, parents, and her older sister and three young daughters. She is so grateful for her family as they are a huge part of her life. Ms. Simons is a graduate of The University of Texas at Arlington but she also has some Cajun roots and cheers for the LSU Tigers. In her spare time, she likes music, cooking, drawing, painting, crafting and anything that allows her to be creative.
