State Testing
Algebra I students are required to pass the EOC exam for graduation. The first attempt will be in May. Any failures will be required to attend summer school and complete a re-test in June. Meeting the standard on EOC exam is a graduation requirement. Credit in Algebra I class is also a graduation requirement.
It is important to place value on doing well and succeeding. We will extensively study the objectives covered on the Algebra I EOC in class, as well as take practice tests to measure progress. Parents will be asked to be involved and will be notified of student progress.
Tutorials are held Mon-Thurs after school throughout the entire year.
Graphing Calculators
We will use a graphing calculator in class everyday. I will be checking out a calculator to every student. Please be advised that if the calculator is damaged or lost, you will be responsible for the cost of $100.00. Calculators must be brought to class everyday, if they are not the students will complete all work by hand. Repeated offenses will turn into disciplinary action.
Things to know...
1. All work must be done in pencil.
2. You must show all work, when answering problems. If your work has only answers, it will be returned for you to redo.
3. Walking in after the bell rings or leaving to get supplies will result in a tardy.
4. Students will be counted tardy, if not in their seat ready to work when the bell rings.
5. Students will not be allowed to leave the classroom. Everything must be done between classes. Bathroom breaks will only be allowed with a class pass.
6. Students will not be allowed to bring food into the classroom. The only drink that will be allowed is bottled water.
