The Best Virtual Teaching Conference is BACK!

Overview

As you know, attending a conference takes a lot of travel, time away from family, and most of all, money. The knowledge gained is highly beneficial for the practice of teaching, but it can be overwhelming and tiring to travel to several different conferences. But, what if you had the opportunity to attend a conference that included all of the same benefits of a major conference, but you never had to leave your house? What if that conference still allowed for connections to be made and to grow your PLN? Best yet, what if that conference were completely FREE?! The conference I am referring to is, of course, Matt Miller's Ditch That Textbook Digital Summit.

So, how does it work?

This conference is a virtual conference that runs from December 14 - December 31. Each day, there will be a new video presented that includes a PDF of notes for that session, and the opportunity for a PD certificate once the video has been watched. The topics are a wide variety of teaching topics, from coding, to recording, to simply engaging pedagogy practices. But, just like any other conference, once the conference is over, all of the videos and notes dissipate back into cyberspace.

A Preview of the Speakers

The following is a list of the presenters for this year's Ditch that Textbook Digital Summit:

Kim Bearden - Co-founder, Ron Clark Academy

Manuel Herrera - Doodler and Visual Thinker

Jornea Erwin - Head of Educator Innovation, Flipgrid

Matt Miller - Ditch That Textbook

Tony Vincent - 5th grade teacher / LearningInHand.com

Bryan L. Miller - Co-Founder, TopTechEDU

Sign up for your FREE Ticket

Perhaps the best part of this is that you aren't tied to a schedule. There's one presentation a day and it's delivered to you, so you can view it at your leisure. Plus, as mentioned, there'll be a PDF "takeaway sheet" that you can download each day to have a quick synopsis of the day's presenter. So, if you'd like to join the crew and take part in this fantastic event, sign up here! Once you're signed up, your ticket will allow you to receive the emails of the day's presenters. Then, you can watch the videos, download the notes, and even get that Professional Development Credit, if your district requires it.

12 Days of Ditch Summit Challenges

Once you register for the Ditch Summit, be sure to check out the 12 Days of Ditch Summit Challenges that occur each day. Once you complete the challenges, you are eligible for Ditch That Textbook merchandise, books, tech gadgets, and even subscriptions to educational technology companies! Also, don't forget to follow #ditchsummit on Twitter to view all of the information other educators will tweet about and take away from it. This is a conference that you don't want to miss!
