STUDENTS SERVE UP DELICIOUS MEAL
Clinton Middle School FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) and Culinary Arts students recently had the opportunity to treat the Board of Education to a delicious meal (see the link below for a menu of the food that was prepared and served).
Not only did students practice their cooking skills, but also important skills such as time management, problem-solving, and menu planning/execution.
CMS FCCLA currently has 38 members. In November, students attended the FCCLA Missouri Fall Leadership Conference at Lake of the Ozarks. Congratulations to CMS FCCLA who received FIRST place in attendance at the conference!
Students are taught by Mrs. Liane Hager.
RECOGNIZING EXCELLENCE
Developing a culture of excellence is a priority in the Clinton School District. When these high levels of achievement and expectations are attained, it's important for us to recognize it.
At Monday evening's Board of Education meeting, the district recognized three Clinton Intermediate School students, Adrian Rios-Carmona, Jordan McNabb and Emery Blair. These students were chosen by their teachers for being amazing examples of what a Clinton Cardinal is. These students are hard-working, kind, helpful, and great role models for their peers.
CIS administrators, Miranda White and Alyssa Bush, also provided a building update to the board regarding the great things happening at their school. The board learned about the school's Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) programs, and how these programs are supporting students' behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. The board received updates on curriculum, how teachers are using data to drive instruction and support student growth, as well as professional development and family engagement activities.
Prior to the start of the meeting, the board enjoyed a choir performance from the CIS Choristers.
STUDENTS INDUCTED INTO HONOR SOCIETIES
Clinton High School recently inducted 26 students into the National Honor Society (NHS). This is in addition to the 28 students who are second year members of the organization.
To be a member of NHS, students must have obtained at least a 3.5 GPA, a clean slate from any discipline issues, and demonstrate all the principles that serve as the foundation of the organization. These young leaders are also giving back to their school and community by completing two group service projects and ten hours of individual service.
2022-2023 NHS Officers include: Nick Branscombe, President; Lauren Bagley, Vice-President; Olivia Goth, Secretary; and Martha Fredrickson, Historian
Congratulations are also in order to the 46 Clinton Middle School 7th and 8th graders who met the requirements to become a member of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). In a ceremony held earlier this month, friends and family celebrated these students' special accomplishment.
To be a member of this prestigious organization, students must maintain a GPA of 3.5, demonstrate leadership skills at school and in the community, be a good citizen and role model to peers, as well as complete eight hours of community service.
2022-2023 NJHS Officers include: Annie Johnson, President; Lily Kenney, Vice-President; Foster Thompson, Secretary; Ayson Zink, Treasurer; and Gwen Phillips, Historian
Clinton High School NHS advisor is Shasta Hetherington and Clinton Middle School NJHS advisor is Angie Bremer.
READY TO PUT SKILLS TO WORK
Health Occupations students at Clinton Technical School have been perfecting personal care skills. During this unit of study students received 16 hours of hands-on practice on oral care and nail care, as well as shaving, bathing and bed-making. These hands-on activities help prepare students to care for patients in a healthcare setting.
Students are putting these skills to work as they begin clinicals at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare.

A CARDINAL THANKSGIVING
Prior to Thanksgiving Break, the Clinton School District enjoyed welcoming close to 600 parents and special guests into their schools for "A Cardinal Thanksgiving".
It was an amazing event that called for all hands on deck. A special thank you to all of our families that were able to join us. A HUGE thank you to our amazing food service department who prepared and served all of the meals. Thank you to our staff who pitched in and helped wherever it was needed, as well as CMS NJHS students, OakStar Bank, GVMH, United Methodist Church, and Nina Southers who all volunteered their time as well.
