Litter

Litter is seriously taking over our lives. All you need to do is throw your rubbish in the bin, its not a big deal is it? Let me tell you something, litter is affecting the wild life on land and at sea.

Did you know that more then 50 animals are dying nearly everyday because of our selfish and negative actions. Yeah its that bad. Plastic is the most common piece of rubbish that gets washed down into the drain which leads to the ocean. When the creature swallows

your litter, it gets stuck in the digestive system for more then 1000 years.

Most whales, turtles and pelicans mistake plastic for food. A pelican names Pete swallowed 17 plastic bags. This caused him to die. Another devastating event occurred in Carins when a marine biologist found a Brydes Whale with 6m² of plastic in its stomach and also died.

In may 2003 a little platypus saved his own life by overcoming his shyness and approached a human because he had a plastic ring cutting deep into his skin. They named him Lucky after he survived that incident.

our data shows that more then half of the school litters with a remarkable 411 pieces of rubbish only after lunch all in one day. Do you want to be in a environment like this? I don't think anyone wants to.

If we're the problem, we're the solution. Please put your rubbish in the bin to help our environment. If i can do it, i think we all can.
