Resource for Families
We at Stevens School want our families to have the tools they need to help our young children be able to process the war in Ukraine. Our school community includes families from Ukraine, Poland and other eastern European countries. We would like to support our families during this difficult time in a few ways. Below is a resource from the American Psychological Association on how to speak to your children. In addition, our author visit today with Ms. Renata Bowers included creating notes of encouragement. Our second and third graders did a beautiful job. Some of the notes will be shipped to Ukraine this weekend and will be in the hands of the Ukrainian people by next week. We are so grateful that we could make this happen. Finally, I am including two organizations who our families recommended as places that are taking donations to aid those in need. Stevens staff will be sending our own donation. Today, I am so proud of our students and our school community. Together we are stronger, and our themes for PBIS of kindness and empathy have really been embraced by our students. Thank you to our parents for your part in instilling these values.
1. United Ukrainian American Relief Committee has opened an account in support of the Ukrainian Army at USNEFCU. Donations can be made at the credit union.
