Our Fabulous Thompson Nurses!
Throughout the fall, our Thompson nurses, Diane Isbrandt, Sherri Esposito, and Amy Kashuba, have been doing an absolutely brilliant job taking care of our Thompson students and staff. Daily they are supporting our health needs while also working together with the Kane County Health Department regarding COVID guidance and tracing. Add to that, they seem to be on the phones morning, noon, and night, advising parents and guardians regarding wellness and current protocols. We have great nursing care here and are so fortunate to have each of these gifted nurses on our team!
Veterans Day
Veterans Day is next Thursday and we will be acknowledging this day in many ways. Builders Club has been creating cards for veterans in nursing homes and many of our Thompson 8th graders participated in the Patriot’s Pen Essay contest. We will be displaying the Veterans Day Certificates that families have filled out in a central location in our building.
On Thursday I will speak directly to our students about the importance of honoring our veterans. I will encourage our student body to find a veteran, talk with them about their service, and thank them for their service. We will also acknowledge the service of Mr. Patrick Shannon, one of our Dean’s Assistants, who served in the United States Marine Corps.
I would like to thank all the veterans in our community for your service to our country.
Daylight Saving Time
Daylight Saving Time ends this Sunday, November 7, 2021, at 2:00 am. On Saturday night, make sure to set your clocks back one hour (i.e., gaining one hour) to “fall back.”
Have a great weekend!
~Steve

2021 TMS Holiday Wish lists for Big Hearts of Fox Valley
This year, Thompson is proud to be a sponsor for Big Hearts of Fox Valley's Holiday Wishlist Sponsorship Program. Last year Big Hearts of Fox Valley helped over 720 families in D303!
Find a link to the children's wish lists from Big Hearts of Fox Valley below. The recipient's Child ID, age, grade, gender, and other information is listed with each wish list item.
Unwrapped items can be dropped off in the donation box, in the school vestibule, before the end of the school day on Thursday, November 11. We are also accepting gift cards and monetary donations via PushCoin, so the PTO can then shop for the remainder wish list items.
Please follow these guidelines:
Label donated gift(s) with the Child ID (listed in the description of the wish list item) and place in the corresponding bin(s) in the school lobby
Items must be UNWRAPPED
Items must be in original packaging
Attach the gift receipt, if possible
We understand many families want to help but don’t have time to shop! This year we have added the option to donate through PushCoin. The Thompson PTO will do the shopping for you! 100% of the donations will be used to purchase items from a child’s wish list or for board games and winter outerwear.
Thank you SO much for your help! This is an opportunity for our Thompson students to help brighten the lives of their peers, as we approach the holiday season. For more information, please contact Shannon Puri email at ShannonPuri@hotmailcom.

TMS Health Office Donations
On occasion, students come to the Health Office and need more than an ice pack or a band-aide. While we keep a limited supply on hand, we do need to replenish these items periodically. We would appreciate your donations. Click on the link below.
Thank you for your generosity!
Honoring Our Veterans
One of our many planned activities for Veterans Days includes acknowledging family members, past and present, who have served our country. We are asking that any family that includes a veteran fill out a Veterans Day Certificate and return it to the Thompson main office. These will be placed in a centralized location to proudly display and honor those who served.
Order your PTO Spirit Wear by November 14! Orders will be delivered to Thompson Middle School by December 10th.
