What is This?
Here are the answers to some frequently asked questions. If there is something that you have been wondering about and it is not addressed here, please give our office a call 503-356-2580.
When is the first day of school?
The first day of school for 6th graders is Tuesday, September 3rd. For 7th & 8th graders, the first day is Wednesday, 9/4.
What if we are in 7th or 8th grade and new to Conestoga?
We are holding a brief orientation on Tuesday, 9/3 at 2pm for 7th & 8th graders "new to our school". If you are not able to attend, please do not worry! We will have plenty of people here to support you when you arrive on Wednesday.
What time does school start?
School starts at 9:15am. Students may enter the building starting at 8:45. Please do not send your student to school before this time! There is no adult supervision until 8:45.
When will student schedules be available?
Students will receive their schedules on the first day of school. For those who a tech savvy - schedules will be live in StudentVue on Tuesday, 9/3.
How do we know our bus stop & pick up time?
The BSD Transportation Department will send emails directly to families during the week of 8/26 with bus stop location and pick up times. Reminder - head out to the stop 5 minutes prior to the time listed!

Do students need to bring all of the supplies with them on the first day?
No. There are very few things needed for the first day of school. We suggest bringing a small drawstring type of backpack, a pen or a pencil, a spiral notebook or some paper and lunch/lunch money. That's it!
When can we pick up the supply kit we ordered? Can we still order?
The CPTO will send an email soon to the families who ordered them with pick up details. We are not able to order additional supply kits.
When will students get their locker?
Lockers will be assigned by the end of the first week of school.
When is Picture Day?
Picture day for all students is on Tuesday, September 10th. Order packets will be sent home with students the first week of school. These packets should be returned to school on picture day.
Do I have to submit the Enrollment Verification?
Yes. We ask that you do so to keep our records up to date. This is especially important in case of an emergency! Up to date phone numbers, names of emergency contacts who your child can be released to and health records are all vital information that needs to be kept current. If your address or phone number changes mid-year, after verifications have been completed, please give the office a call asap.
What's up with the locked doors & safety upgrades?
If you have been to our school in the last couple of weeks, you will have noticed that our doors are now locked at all times. If you have not had the chance to stop by be prepared for this change. To enter the building, simply press the small silver button on the camera located on the pole to the right of the center front door.
