Our Fun Run Fundraiser will be starting on Monday! Check your student's backpack for more information.

Please help your child find sponsors to encourage them to run and be active! There will be individual prizes, classroom prizes/incentives and Mr. Roth will do something silly for full participation on run day!!

Families will be invited on run day to spectate and cheer your child on, then stay and enjoy an otter pop after they're finished.

We are really excited about this FUNdraiser and can't wait to get moving!!

Moment of Silence

As you know, in Gilbert Public Schools, many of our schools already observe a moment of silence as part of our school routine, along with citing The Pledge of Allegiance each day. Under a new Arizona statute, schools must provide students with the opportunity to observe one to two minutes of silence each day, and teachers and staff are not permitted to give students any direction on how to use this silent time. The statute reserves that right for parents/guardians and requires us to inform you of this right. Please take a moment to speak with your child about how best to use the daily moment of silence.

Harris Run Club!

We are so excited to offer Run Club at Harris! It will run from November - February and Ms. Hanohano will be the coach. We also have some scholarship opportunities available to assist families.

What Does It Mean To Be A Title I School?

Title I is the largest federal aid program for public schools. Schools can be designated as “Title I” if certain criteria are met. Title I is the federal government’s commitment to closing the achievement gap between low-income and moderate to high income students. These funds are used to help all students meet academic standards. Click the links below to learn more!

How We Implement Title Funds at Harris

Math at Harris is FUN! We are so lucky to be a Title I school. We have not only one, but TWO Math Specialists at Harris! Tanya Dunlap and Lori Rogers love Math, and share that love with the students. Mrs. Dunlap pushes in and works with small groups in two classes of every grade level to help inspire young mathematicians. Mrs. Rogers pushes in and works with small groups in the third classroom in all grade levels. In addition to pushing into classrooms, Mrs. Rogers and Mrs. Dunlap model Math lessons and provide Math materials to make learning Math fun. At Harris, we do WhAtever it tAkes to build Math minds!
