Rock-en in the Earth
By: Robby P
Plates
Earth is made up of plates. These plates are called tectonic plates. These plates move because of convection currents. They move up, down, forward, and backward. The plates are separated by plate boundaries. The boundaries are called divergent, convergent, and transform.
Earthquakes
This earthquake in Japan devastated a whole towns geographic setting.
Humans
Humans destroy nature and build over beauty.
Rivers
Rivers drive through mountains and overflow into valleys.
Erosion the Rock Thief.
Erosion is the weathering of rock. Erosion is caused by water, wind, and ice. In a dry climate wind would do the most damage, but in a wet climate water would do the most damage. In a dry climate water would do the least damage, but in a wet climate wind would do the leastdamage.
Fossils
Superposition
Superposition is the deposit of one stratum to another.
Fossils
This fossil shows how old and strange these animals where.
No two fossils are the same
This picture shows that no two fossils are the same.
Rocks Minerals, Same or Diffrent
Igneous Rock
Formed by cooling magma under the surface.
Sedimentary Rock
These rocks form when rocks press and cement together.
Metamorphic Rock
Rock that changes into a different rock from heat and pressure.
The rock cycle
First rock comes to the surface from the mantel. Then it is taken into the sea because of erosion. Next it is pressed into sedimentary rock. Next it melts into metamorphic rock. Then it is pushed up into igneous rock.
Minerals
Minerals are formed by cooled magma. They are also formed when a saluted solution evaporates. We identify minerals by there color, streak, hardness, and cleavage.
I loved this project
I liked this website on its own. I loved the freedom on this assignment. And I loved the content.
