The Compass Notes
October 8th, 2021
A Compass Note:
Events are starting to ramp up across our district. Please be on the lookout for important dates of upcoming events that families and students will have the opportunity to take part in. We are excited to begin offering more opportunities to connect with our families and look forward to sharing in these times with you! We are excited to celebrate Homecoming today, and the opportunity that gives us to come together and support our kids! We hope that everyone has an opportunity to take part in the festivities, and the enjoyment that it offers! As you can see from the pictures below, our kiddos had a pretty good time with the dress up days this week. If you would like to see more pictures from our daily themes, please check out our Facebook page!
Have a great week Compass family!

Sponsor a Pirate
This week Pirate Sponsor letters were sent home. The Pirate Sponsor program is a no cost fund raising tool used to help raise additional money for PTA. Compass PTA uses the money raised to fund field trips, for playground improvements, staff appreciation, school activities, enrichment programs, and other school needs. We thank you for your consideration and support.
Scholastic Book Fair
Mark your calendars! The Scholastic Book Fair will run from October 25th to November 4th. This year the kids will be able to shop the book fair in person at the school. PTA is looking for volunteers to help support the fair. We have several days and time slots to fill. Those interested in helping please sign up using the link below. Remember that for everything sold during the book fair, Compass will get a credit to purchase books and supplies for the library. Thanks in advance for your support.

PCR-3 Community Advisory: Apply by October 29
Platte County School District recognizes the importance of community input to help set the future direction of our schools.
We are launching the PCR-3 Community Advisory to gather volunteers who will have an ongoing role to review the District’s progress toward its Comprehensive Strategic Improvement Plan (CSIP) goals, as well as to provide input regarding the District's general operation and specific issues impacting education activities and programs.
This group will review, discuss, monitor, and advise on a variety of topics including the academic calendar, long-range facility plan, fraud and audit, safety and security, attendance area boundaries, facility naming, technology, equity and inclusion, character education, health and wellness, and additional topics requested by the Board of Education. The group will meet quarterly, or more regularly as needed, to complete specific tasks.
Any District resident, employee, or student may participate in the ongoing work of this group. PCR-3 hopes to have a full membership of 75 or more members. A PCR-3 Community Advisory Steering Committee will be composed of 8-10 District residents who represent a broad cross-section of PCR-3 parents and citizens with at least two representatives from each of PCR-3’s attendance areas. Steering Committee members will additionally meet in advance of full membership meetings.
If interested in serving on this advisory as a General Member or Steering Committee Member, please complete the application linked below by October 29.
