Jimtown Intermediate School

March 2021 Newsletter

Message from Mrs. Brubaker

We are heading into the home stretch and are thankful that we were able to complete another 9 weeks of full in-person learning offered five days a week. We have welcomed back a large amount of our virtual students and are happy to see our classrooms full once again. We have begun to close the gaps in education that have been created by this pandemic and are continuing to work diligently to provide our students with as many opportunities for success as we can!

Please know that the safety of students and staff remain the priority at Jimtown Intermediate. I understand that we are all weary and frustrated by this past year, but we will continue to remain steadfast in our mitigation strategies in order to continue to provide an in-person experience for our students.

We also realize that we have students who continue to struggle academically and as a district, are working to provide some intervention strategies to support those students as well as summer school opportunities.

In closing, I would like to thank you. Thank you for entrusting your children to us in a time that is filled with uncertainty. They are the future and they are learning and growing in ways that we aren't even aware of during this unprecedented time.

Attention Parents Of Current 5th Grade Students

Now is the time to start thinking about setting up appointments for your child.

All incoming 6th graders are required to have a physical exam and 2 additional immunizations (Tdap and Meningococcal) BEFORE the school year begins. If your child is considering playing sports in 6th grade, they will also need a IHSAA sports physical completed before they will be allowed to participate. Summertime well child office visits fill up quickly, so call and get those appointments scheduled soon!
