A Time of Reflection
As a teacher, I would reflect on my day of instruction during the drive home. As a principal, I would take a few moments to reflect on each interaction I had with students, staff, teachers and parents. Personally, although I reflect on a variety of topics throughout the day, the end of the year is a reflection of the peaks and valleys of the year (my fingers are always crossed for more peaks than valleys).
In the Federal Grants and Support department, reflection is just part of what we do. I reflect on each interaction, be it face-to-face, on the telephone, e-mail or IM. As a team, we reflect on many topics, such as our decisions regarding feedback and approvals of the various grants, how we can make paperwork more efficient for all of you, what do we need as technical assistance to help you meet the requirements of the grant as well as meeting the needs of students, and how best to keep the lines of communication open to you.
Oftentimes, as educators, we focus, because we care so much, on all we haven't been able to do with students, families, staff, teachers, community members, central office, the Board of Education, the state--did I get them all?
For us as educators, reflection is a habit of mind. We invite you to take a moment to write down at least five accomplishments you are most proud of this year--personal or professional, big or small. It is amazing how good you'll feel afterwards. We need to always take a moment to "pat" ourselves, and one another, on the back to help us meet the challenges of our profession.

Title Con 20/20 Update
Call for Proposals
Title Con 2019 was successful in large part because of its presenters and keynote speakers; we want to carry on this success to Title Con 20/20: Creating a Vision for the Future.
You are invited to submit a proposal application to present at Title Con 20/20. There are a variety of ways to present, including individual presentations, poster sessions, and panels.
We know there are many experts in the field in Indiana and all are encouraged to submit proposals that serve to impact the future of federal grants and programming.
Please find the application on the Title Con 20/20 webpage; submissions are due no later than Friday, December 20, 2019 via Jotform.
If you have any questions, please contact your Federal Grants Specialist.
We look forward to reading your proposals!
