THINGS TO KNOW:
*DONUTS WITH DADS - Donuts with Dad will be on Thursday, February 14. If dad is not available that day, students can bring one adult substitute to this event.
*VALENTINE'S PARTIES - Class Valentine's Day parties will be held at different times per grade level on February 14. Please check with your child's teacher to get the correct time.
*PTO MEETING - PTO will be held on Thursday, February 7 @ 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. This is our second PTO evening meeting of the year. Please enter the meeting from the cafeteria entrance.
* PTO CHOCOLATE SALES - PTO Chocolate bar sales will kick off on Thursday, February 21. Sales of chocolate bars will run from Friday, February 22 - Friday, March 8. Money from sales will be due on that Friday since the following week is Spring Break.
*SHOW THE STAFF SOME LOVE - FEBRUARY - We will have staff Valentine bags in the lounge for all of our staff members. We are doing a 'SHOW THE STAFF SOME LOVE" campaign for the month of February. Feel free to join us by writing a note of appreciation to staff members thanking them for what they do. These can be submitted to the front office with the teacher name on them and we will get them in the appropriate bag.
*CHANGE OF TRANSPORTATION/PICK UP EARLY - If you have a need to change your child's transportation, the best option is to send a note to the teacher the day of the change. If it is an emergency and you need to change during the day, the cut off for that change to be effective is 2:30 p.m. If you need to pick up your child early, you will need to be in the front office no later than 2:45 p.m.
*YEARBOOK ORDERS - Yearbooks are now currently selling for $26 each. They can be purchased at the link below.
Lifelong habits begin at home. Make dental health part of your daily routine and share these reminders with your whole family:
☺ Brush your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, especially after breakfast and before bedtime. Drinking water after eating also helps to clear your teeth of food particles.
☺ Floss every day. An adult should help children under the age of eight to floss. Older children should be ready to floss on their own.
☺ Limit the number of times you eat snacks, especially the sticky ones and long lasting ones. ☺ Visit a dentist regularly for a routine check up and a cleaning.
☺ Protect your teeth by wearing a mouth guard when playing sports.
☺ Don’t forget to change your tooth brush regularly, and after an illness.
Sweet snack facts:
Eating a lot of snacks with sugar may cause cavities. Every time you eat sugar, plaque in your mouth mixes with the sugar to make acid. The acid hurts the teeth and causes decay over time. This can be painful! Any assistance please call Audra Sims, R.N. 832-592-5903 ☺ Smile
CAR RIDER LINE - REMINDER OF THE PROCESS
AFTERNOON NOTES - Remember that you must enter the car rider line from Oak Ridge School Road instead of our driveway.
REMINDER - Don't forget when you are in the car rider line, it is against the law to be on your cell phone. (Not to mention that it is dangerous to our staff and students who are on duty.)

Official attendance time is 9:00 a.m. If your child arrives after 9, he/she will be counted absent for the day. Tardy time this school year is 8:01 a.m. If your child arrives after 8:01, the parent needs to walk the child into the front office and sign the child into school.
It is just as important for students to remain at school all day as it is for them to be on time. The 20 minutes missed frequently at the end of the day do add up and cause students to miss important information for their learning. Please allow your child to stay at school all day unless there is an emergency.
Thank you for help with these matters!
