*SHOW THE STAFF SOME LOVE - FEBRUARY - We will have staff Valentine bags in the lounge for all of our staff members. We are doing a 'SHOW THE STAFF SOME LOVE" campaign for the month of February. Feel free to join us by writing a note of appreciation to staff members thanking them for what they do. These can be submitted to the front office with the teacher name on them and we will get them in the appropriate bag.

*CHANGE OF TRANSPORTATION/PICK UP EARLY - If you have a need to change your child's transportation, the best option is to send a note to the teacher the day of the change. If it is an emergency and you need to change during the day, the cut off for that change to be effective is 2:30 p.m. If you need to pick up your child early, you will need to be in the front office no later than 2:45 p.m.

*YEARBOOK ORDERS - Yearbooks are now currently selling for $26 each. They can be purchased at the link below.

February is National Dental Health Month!

Lifelong habits begin at home. Make dental health part of your daily routine and share these reminders with your whole family:

☺ Brush your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, especially after breakfast and before bedtime. Drinking water after eating also helps to clear your teeth of food particles.

☺ Floss every day. An adult should help children under the age of eight to floss. Older children should be ready to floss on their own.

☺ Limit the number of times you eat snacks, especially the sticky ones and long lasting ones. ☺ Visit a dentist regularly for a routine check up and a cleaning.

☺ Protect your teeth by wearing a mouth guard when playing sports.

☺ Don’t forget to change your tooth brush regularly, and after an illness.

Sweet snack facts:

Eating a lot of snacks with sugar may cause cavities. Every time you eat sugar, plaque in your mouth mixes with the sugar to make acid. The acid hurts the teeth and causes decay over time. This can be painful! Any assistance please call Audra Sims, R.N. 832-592-5903 ☺ Smile

MORNING NOTES - If you are choosing to park and drop off your children, it is important that you park in a parking spot and walk your child to the door. Avoid parking behind someone, thus blocking them in, or parking in the entrance/exit to the parking lot. We do recommend that you drive through the line to drop off instead of parking and walking the child to the front. Tardies begin at 8:02 a.m. Please arrive early to ensure your child is not tardy to school.

AFTERNOON NOTES - Remember that you must enter the car rider line from Oak Ridge School Road instead of our driveway.

REMINDER - Don't forget when you are in the car rider line, it is against the law to be on your cell phone. (Not to mention that it is dangerous to our staff and students who are on duty.)

Attendance is very important for student learning. Our daily attendance goal is 98%. Currently, we are running, on average, about 96%. Please help us reach our goal by sending your child to school daily.

Official attendance time is 9:00 a.m. If your child arrives after 9, he/she will be counted absent for the day. Tardy time this school year is 8:01 a.m. If your child arrives after 8:01, the parent needs to walk the child into the front office and sign the child into school.

It is just as important for students to remain at school all day as it is for them to be on time. The 20 minutes missed frequently at the end of the day do add up and cause students to miss important information for their learning. Please allow your child to stay at school all day unless there is an emergency.

Thank you for help with these matters!
