CVCS January Disciple of Christ

Congratulations to the January Recipient of the CVCS Disciple of Christ Award Lisa Wildeboer!

If you ever get a chance to come watch her lead a whole grade concert practice, it is amazing how Mrs. Wildeboer can combine 65 plus voices together to make a magical performance. Her patience is amazing while she works with an individual student, a class, whole grade, or the whole school. She leads by modeling this daily in her teaching and actions. She brings knowledge of different genres of music to all grade levels to make singing a fun experience for all. Mrs. Wildeboer not only teaches her music curriculum, but she finds time to incorporate her service into teaching and practicing for weekly masses. Her faith is shown daily as she models this in all her actions.

The Cedar Valley Catholic Schools Disciple of Christ Award recognizes a teacher or staff member that: is a witness of Christ to the students and families of Cedar Valley Catholic Schools, treats all they have-both talents and possessions-as blessings to be shared with others, builds the kingdom of God through their example of joyful generosity, sacrifice and/or evangelization, consistently demonstrates Catholic virtues by word & example, and helps to advance the mission of Cedar Valley Catholic Schools by being a positive role model of faith, discipline, knowledge, and service to their peers, students and families of CVCS.

Semester II

Semester II is underway for the 2022-2023 year! Report cards will be mailed at the end of next week. If your student is enrolled in a career center class, please know that these courses are managed by WCS and will not be finalized when our report cards are mailed.

As you receive report cards, consider talking with your student about their academics from the first semester. It is important to reinforce positive habits with regard to studying and time management. The most successful high school and college students dedicate specific times, on specific nights for studying-- building these habits now lay the foundation of success in post-secondary education.

Conferences will be here before we know it-- and are scheduled for February 21 and 23, so be sure to mark your calendars. The North Iowa Cedar League (NICL) Calendar is linked below. This includes all activities for CHS and BMAP.
