Geography
The size of Botswana is 231,804 sq miles. Botswana is land locked and very nearly in the center of the southern African Subcontinent, on an elevated plateau of approximately 1,000 meters. These factors tend to cause annual low rainfall.The natural resources include diamonds, copper, nickel, salt, soda ash, potash, iron ore, and silver.Geographically, much of Botswana in southern Africa is rolling tableland and plains. Its central and southern regions are dominated ecologically by the Kalahari Desert, which is actually a vast semi-desert of woodland, scrub and sandy grassland. Botswana is one of the most seriously affected countries do to deforestation it effects plants and animals.

Culture
Botswana refers to the largest ethnic group in the country- the Tswana who makes up one third of the population. They speak the main language of Setswana along with 26 other languages. The main religion is Christianity. Some Christian holidays are Christmas where we celebrate the birth of Jesus, and there is Easter when we celebrate Jesus rising from the dead.
