Autumn Leaves

Autumn Leaves

Autumn leaves are falling down,
Falling down,
Falling down.

Autumn leaves are falling down,

All around the town.

The wind will blow them round and round,

Round and round,

Round and round,

The wind will blow them round and round,

All around the town.

Take a rake and rake them up,

Rake them up,

Rake them up.

Take a rake and rake them up,

All around the town.

Song learned from King County Library System.

Take a Hike

As we head into October, take advantage of the season to get outside and explore the Oregon Coast with the children in your life. Take a hike at Mingus Park, the South Slough, or Eel Lake and talk about the changing trees. Be on the lookout at the South Slough and Millacoma Marsh for migrating birds-like pelicans. Use the outdoors as a springboard to introduce new vocabulary words--the more words your child hears, the better prepared they'll be for school.

Check out a State Park Pass

Did you know the Coos Bay Library checks out backpacks with a pass to the Oregon State Parks? Each kit has a different theme and contains a park pass good for entrance to an Oregon State Park for a week, and a variety of things that can be used exploring nature. Themes include marine mammals, whales, wildlife, tidepools, trees and rockhounding. Check one out today-ask at the front desk for details.

Dolly Parton Imagination Library

Every child under the age of five living in Coos County is eligible to receive a free book every month in the mail through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. The program is made possible through the support of generous donors and the Dolly Parton Foundation. Signing up is easier than ever for Coos Bay residents-you can sign up online. Sign up today!
