Hardware and Software

Hardware: I can physical touch the device; I may have to open up the base unit to find it, but I could still find the physical object. Software: I can see or use a program; making use of the hardware to make something happen.

Software is the things that's running your computer. You get software updates occasionally to upgrade the current software.

Input Device

In computing, an input device is a peripheral (piece of computer hardware equipment) used to provide data and control signals to an information processing system such as a computer or information appliance. Examples of input devices include keyboards, mice, scanners, digital cameras and joysticks.

An output device is any piece of computer hardware equipment used to communicate the results of data processing carried out by an information processing system (such as a computer) which converts the electronically generated information into human-readable form.

A computer program or app is a sequence of instructions, written to perform a specified task on a computer. A computer requires programs to function, typically executing the program's instructions in a central processor

Storage Device

a piece of computer equipment on which information can be stored.

Operating system

the low-level software that supports a computer's basic functions, such as scheduling tasks and controlling peripherals.
