Weiss High School
Wolf Pack Communication
We hope everyone had a safe and restful break last week.
Unfortunately, one of our Weiss family members has suffered a terrible loss. Zack Krasuk who teaches Algebra II and College Prep Math, lost his daughter, Zoe, just over a week ago. She was three years old. Mr. Krasuk was here at work the Monday before the break, but had to spend the remainder of that week in the ICU with his wife and daughter as Zoe tried to battle through complications with Leukemia and her heart. Tragically, she wasn’t able to pull through. Mr. Krasuk will be staying at home with his wife, as they navigate this new reality for the remainder of this semester, but we wanted to share funeral plans with you and info on how you can support the family, if you wish. The QR code below will take you to a gofund.me page created to help with Zoe’s medical/funeral expenses.
Please keep this family in your heart and hold close those you love.

Students/Families that have students testing for December STAAR will receive an email to their student email account and parent account in skyward on 11/28.
Testing Resources/Practice: https://www.texasassessment.gov/families.html
You MUST bring your district Chromebook in order to take the EOC STAAR Exam. Please bring your charger as well. If you do not have a Chromebook, please stop by the library to get a form for parent permission and to check one out. The campus has limited desktop computers for testing.
If you are scheduled to take the EOC STAAR Exam in December, you will arrive at the Testing Area before 9:00 am. You will check in to the class and prepare your Chromebook for testing. The testing administrator will provide directions. Testing will be a minimum of two hours for Algebra I, Biology, and US History. Testing will be a minimum of 3 hours for English I and English II. Once the minimum time passes or if a student finishes, whichever is first, the student will return to the regularly scheduled class. Students will be provided lunch as they would during typical school days.
Pop Up Booths - During Lunches for staff...
With the craziness of the Holidays... many staff do not get to go out and shop. We are looking to schedule businesses, and local vendors to schedule a day and come sell to staff during all lunches from 11am to 11:00pm.

Why our flag is flying at half mast...
A Proclamation on the Death of Rosalynn Carter
Fly the United States Flags
at Half-Staff Beginning on Saturday, November 25, 2023 Through Sunset on
Wednesday, November 29, 2023
Throughout her life as First Lady of Georgia and First Lady of the United States, Rosalynn Carter exemplified hope, warmth, and a steadfast commitment to doing all she could to address many of our society’s greatest needs. She was a champion for equal rights and opportunities for women and girls; an advocate for mental health and wellness for all; and a supporter of the often unseen and uncompensated caregivers of our children, aging loved ones, and people with disabilities. Above all, the deep love shared between Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter is the definition of partnership, and their humble leadership is the definition of patriotism.
As a mark of respect for the memory of Rosalynn Carter, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions from November 25, 2023, until sunset, on the day of interment. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-first day of November, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-three, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-eighth.
