Commit to 36 is a fundraising campaign for the Hoover City Schools Foundation.
Commit to 36 Begins April 24th with Exciting Changes!
Commit to 36 is a fundraising campaign by the Hoover City Schools Foundation with the goal of raising $36 per student (that’s $1 for every school week) to support grants and innovative programming in Hoover City Schools. With almost 14,000 students, we could raise $500,000. We believe this is an achievable goal with community support from parents, business leaders, and local businesses. Together, we can make a big difference in the educational offerings for our students.
This year, the Foundation has announced some exciting changes to Commit to 36 for this year!
We have added a list of schools to our Donate page for tracking purposes. We will donate 10% of your school’s designated donations (from April 7 until May 24) back to your PTO.
If your school reaches 20% participation, we will increase our donation to 20%.
The school with the highest participation rate gets an additional $1000 grant directly to the Principal.
We are working with the Hoover Restaurant Alliance to host a city-wide Spirit Day to benefit the Foundation. More details to follow.
Thank you, PTA, for a wonderful Teacher Appreciation Luncheon! Our faculty and staff enjoyed their delicious lunch and special gifts.
Way to go, Jumpin' Jags! They had a fantastic performance at Celebrate Hoover Day!
Attention 5th Grade Parents! Middle School Transition Night is May 7th!
Take Time to Care for Hunger (T3)
Every 3.6 seconds a person dies of hunger. 75% of those are children.
A club has been created at Spain Park called: Take Time To Care (T3) by two of our former Greystone students, Lupita and Juan Luis Contreras. Also, Sofía Conteras one of our 5th graders is organizing this project as well. The T3 Club, along with the support of Mr. Giangrosso and Mrs.Hadder at Spain Park as well as the cosponsors Stop Hunger Now, Helping Hands and CRS, will host a 10,000 meal packing drive on May 5th from 8:30-10:30 a.m. in the Spain Park High School Cafeteria. They need around 80-100 volunteers and donations. Each meal costs 50 cents.
Please, follow our link to donate and register to help at http://helpinghands.crs.org/events/take-time-care/
