Course Calendars

Weeks of 9/21 - 10/6

The Course Calendars for the weeks of September 21st - October 6th have been sent out by now. If you have not received them, please check your kmail. If you don't see them or need them to be resent, please reach out to your homeroom teacher!

Did you know? Many parents may think their students cannot work ahead since we are using the course calendars this year. However, you may still choose to go on to the next day or week in the calendars and still be ahead. Additionally, you may choose to go to other lessons in the OLS and work on those as well. It's all in how you work the tools you have!

If you would like some tips on how to do this, please ask your teacher. She is more than happy to help support the goals you have for your student!

OLS Daily/Weekly Plan Tip

In last week's newsletter, we mentioned that you can go into the OLS and hide your courses, so nothing comes up in your daily/weekly plan (since we are using the course calendars instead). Well, thanks to some amazing parents, we found out that it actually hides those courses from your attendance screen as well.

We apologize for any confusion we may have caused. We thought we were helping! :)

Study Island Benchmark Tests!

Students in all grade levels will be taking benchmark tests in the Study Island program this week (9/28)! This is not only a school requirement but it's also part of the report card grade.

Class Connects will be cancelled this week, to allow students to focus on Study Island Benchmarks and OLS coursework.

Please be aware that if students do not complete testing, not only will grades be affected but curriculum may be locked for non-compliance with our testing policy.
We certainly don't want that to happen!

Please ask your teacher for more information if you have not already received it from them. If you are struggling to get into Study Island, please contact your teacher.

Remember, YOUR BEST IS ALWAYS GOOD ENOUGH!

HAPPY TESTING!

Questions About Class Connect Requirements?

Students are expected to attend all class connects live whenever possible. This allows students to interact with teachers and their peers. However, if a student has to miss the live session, the recordings are always available. It's the student's responsibility to watch the recording and complete any assignments or exit ticket surveys from the teacher during that session. Students will get the same credit for attending whether it's live or recorded, as long they complete the survey.

Need a Translator?
