Congratulations to HS North Art Students!
Lillian Chen was awarded 3rd place in the Bonnie Watson Coleman Congressional Art Competition. Started in 1982, It is a nation wide high school arts competition sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives. Since its inception over 650,000 students have submitted work for consideration. Participating students were rewarded with an opening reception at NovoNordisk in Plainsboro.
In addition, Janet Zhang , Aruja Patel, and Amy Kuriakose's artwork work has been selected for publication in the 28th volume of aMuse: poetry, prose and artwork by students K-12, the Arts Council of Princeton’s annual visual arts and literary magazine. The Arts Council of Princeton publication is a community-wide effort to encourage children to express themselves through works of art, both literary and visual. These students will be attending a reception on June 2 at the Princeton Arts Council.

HS North Student Wins Award for Superior Writing from NCTE!
HS North Junior, Danielle Brubaker, was awarded a Certificate for Superior Writing from the National Council for the Teachers of English (NCTE).

We need all of our emotions for thinking, problem solving, and focused attention. We are neurobiologically wired, and to learn anything, our minds must be focused and our emotions need to "feel" in balance. Emotional regulation is necessary so that we can remember, retrieve, transfer, and connect all new information to what we already know.
