A Message from Mrs. Tate
Dear St. Michael families,
We have had a fantastic week! Our teachers have done an excellent job creating activities and classwork to keep our focus on the miracle of Christmas as the anticipation of the birth of Christ continues to build.
This morning in Mass, Fr. Luke’s homily centered around the Nativity. He talked about the people who attended the birth of Jesus – shepherds and wise men. The poorest of the poor and the wisest of the wise ran to Jesus to recognize Jesus as the Savior of the World. He asked the kids who wasn’t there…who didn’t run to Jesus? Everyone else in Bethlehem stayed home.
Fr. Luke’s point was that the poorest of the poor and the wisest of the wise didn’t care what other people thought of them. They were free to recognize Jesus because they weren’t bound by worrying about what other people thought of them running to Jesus.
He challenged all of us to shed the worry of what others think and practice the beautiful freedom to recognize Jesus as God…to engage in singing and responding to the prayers…to gleefully participate in the coming of Christ in the Eucharist.
Be bold. Be free. Don’t live in fear.
Take the opportunity God gives us to grow in the freedom to recognize Jesus, to run to him, to worry less about what others think, and to freely worship Jesus at his birth and always.
May the blessings of the Advent season be with you all!
Sincerely in Christ,
Diana Tate, Principal

We Want Your Feedback
SMA Parents -
St. Michael the Archangel (SMA) School administration is in the process of developing a five-year strategic plan to coincide with the school’s five-year accreditation. The strategic plan will help to guide the school’s work in the areas of operations, Catholicity, and academic achievement over the next five-year period. The School Advisory Council (SAC) is making recommendations to the administration and would like your input to assist in the area of academic achievement. All school families are invited to submit the short survey linked below to share your family’s sentiments and priorities for academics. Let your voice be heard as the committee develops recommendations for the strategic plan. Please complete the survey by December 9th. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
