FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Father Doyle Families,
On behalf of the faculty and staff of Father Doyle School, I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!
Throughout these weeks of Advent, I have been struck by the ways in which members of our school community - from staff to students to families - have been a source of authentic joy amidst these challenging times. Ultimately, the root of this joy is at the heart of Christmas. As Pope Benedict XVII reflected in an Advent Homily in 2005:
"Joy is the true gift of Christmas... we can transmit this joy simply: with a smile, with a kind gesture, with some small help, with forgiveness. Let us give this joy and the joy given will be returned to us. Let us seek in particular to communicate the deepest joy, that of knowing God in Christ. Let us pray that this presence of God’s liberating joy will shine out in our lives."
I pray Christmas brings you, your family, and loved ones true joy this year.
As we look ahead to the Christmas break, please note that the travel policy at Father Doyle School remains as follows:
"To lower the chances of spreading COVID-19 and help mitigate risk within the school community, Father Doyle is requiring students who are not vaccinated who have traveled to a location outside of Rhode Island for vacation or similar extended stay within the United States to submit a negative PCR test taken upon their arrival back in Rhode Island prior to returning to school. Unvaccinated students choosing not to get tested will be required to quarantine for seven days while monitoring for symptoms before returning to school."
If you are traveling internationally, please contact the school for additional information and guidance.
Lastly, in an effort to mitigate potential spread after the Christmas recess, Father Doyle School will be holding a PCR testing event on Thursday, December 30th from 9am-11am. Please note that this testing event is for students and staff at Father Doyle School only. You must RSVP to attend this clinic by using the Google Form here.
God bless you, and Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

An Update from the Safety Patrol
A few notes to help our parking lot run safer and smoother in the weeks ahead:
- Please do not walk along the road behind the rectory. This road is one-way, narrow, and designed for vehicle traffic only. Families are encouraged to use the crosswalks and sidewalks in the main parking lot.
- A reminder that spots in front of the gym are for drop-off only. If you would prefer to exit your vehicle and walk your children to the entrance, please use a parking spot. Please note, these drop-off spots should not be utilized during afternoon pick-up.
Ice Cream Orders- January
Many families have ordered through this new system. If you have ordered ice cream through FACTS for this upcoming month, there is no need to place another order.
If your child does not order lunch through FACTS, or you were unable to order ice cream through the FACTS Lunch Menu, you can still order as you have done in the past through the Google Form found here: January Ice Cream Orders.
Thank you!

Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
