Empower All People to be Healthy, Lifelong Learners

Kia kaha - do your best * Kia māia - be courageous * Kia manawanui - have a heart

Principal's Message

Kia ora whanau,

What an outstanding start to Term 3. This term’s learning theme is He Ao Mō Tātou - Sharing the Planet and I am so excited about the upcoming learning experiences that have been organised.

From our Community Korero last term, one of the key responses from our community was to have learning experiences in and out of the classroom walls that have impact on our community and province.

Thank you in advance to all the parents and caregivers that will be going on learning trips with our students this term.

Big picture
We have a new gate in the drop off zone!

To help with the congestion at the ends of the school day, we have opened another gateway and put in a path from the pool end of the Rimu block.

Please remember - don't park here though: this area is for drop of and pick up only. If you have to leave your car, please park somewhere legally.

Well done to all our Mid Winter Swimmers!
Mid Winter Swim

It was green, it was cold, it was... heaps of fun!

Well done to all of our keen fundraisers for braving the water on the last day of last term. They were all helping to raise funds for end of year camps. Special mention has to go to Corban Read, who raised a whopping $143! Well done Corban!

Great new climbing challenges!

Over the holidays Layne from Plaztuff Taranaki was very busy making and installing 4 new sets of jungle gyms. A massive thanks to the Home and School for purchasing these for our school and to all the people who came to the disco to support the H&S fundraising. The jungle gyms seem to have made the grade looking at all the smiling faces.

Breakfast Club

Come along to our free Breakfast Club on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. 8.15am-8.45am in the School Hall. All welcome. See you there!

School Donations

Thank you to everyone who has made a School Donation to the school so far this year. All money received goes towards learning experiences for our tamariki. If you would like to make a donation this term, please contact the office.

Kauri Fundraising - Sausage Sizzle

Throughout this term our Year 7 & 8 students will be working hard on fundraising for camps and trips.

First up, we have a Sausage Sizzle on Wednesday 1 August. $2 per sausage. Order forms will be at the office.

Puketapu School Cross Country: Fun Run & Walk

Training has already begun for our cross country. This year our Cross Country Fun Run & Walk will be on the morning of Thursday 16 August. It is a fun run and walk, so the expectation is that every child takes part, both in training and on the day. The focus is on health and wellbeing, challenging ourselves and taking part.

Remember: you don't have to be good to start, but you have to start to become good.

It will be a dress up whanau event and there will be sponsorship challenges as well.
