Story plot and Text Evidence in Literary Nonfiction

Choose a few literary non-fiction texts from your library, Epic, Scholastic.com, etc. As you read, stop and jot using sticky notes and the graphic organizer attached:
-Pause at the end of each chapter (or paragraph). Jot about how this part of the story fit with what happened earlier.
-Pause at the end of each chapter or scene. Jot about where you think you are in the plot.
-Pause at the end of each chapter or scene and jot. How close is the character to solving their big problem? What part of the plot does that match?

This week you will revise your narrative writing by:
- Rereading
- Editing
- Using word patterns to correct spelling
Assignment #1
Watch the video below.
- Your personal narrative
- A pencil
- A highlighter or yellow crayons.
Re-read your personal narrative starting at the end. Read every word carefully, thinking about individual words and their correct spelling. Highlight the words you find that don't look right or that you know are misspelled.

- Your personal narrative with highlighted spelling errors
- A red pen or red crayon
- Dictionary or high frequency word list (HFWL)
Use your HFWL to correct the highlighted words in your paper. Remember you can use resources like a dictionary or https://www.dictionary.com/.

- If you are able to submit electronically, take a picture of your revisions and submit them to your teacher.
- If you are not able to submit your work electronically, just hang on to your draft as you will need it next week.
